GIVE

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

— 2 CORINTHIANS 9:6-8

The mission and ministry of Christ through American Lutheran Church is made possible through the generosity of our members and friends.  Volunteers donate hundreds if not thousands of hours every year in a wide variety of ways that maintain ALC as a welcoming house of worship and a beacon of Christ’s light in La Porte City and beyond.  Faithful stewardship of our financial resources is another significant way that we are called to serve God and one another throughout Scripture.  We thank you for your gifts of time, prayer, and monetary offerings.  We give because we have been blessed to be a blessing to others in Christ’s name.

YOUR OFFERING

Online giving for the LaPorte City American Lutheran Church is available through Tithe.ly. Your gift is safe, secure and goes directly to our church. You have the option to designate how your offering is used:

  • CURRENT: This fund finances church expenses including utilities, supplies and all things necessary to operate our congregation.

  • BUILDING: The building fund is used to pay for our church building loan.

  • BENEVOLENCE: Benevolence is defined quite simply as an act of kindness or generosity. This is a part of the outreach we do as a congregation. In the past, our congregation has supported Northeastern Iowa Synod, Lutheran Social Services, Camp EWALU, and ELCA Synod among others through offerings made to this fund.
